Unit4 wildlife protection
Period: 1(warming up+pre-reading)
1. Teaching objectives:
1) Knowledge objectives: all the students master new words and expressions like die out, hunt, in peace, in danger and so on.
most students understand and can make a list of endangered animals and analyze their problems.
2) Ability objectives: be able to analyze what lead to animal numbers decreasing and give relevant advice.
3) Emotional objectives: try to pay attention to wildlife protection and realize the importance of balances between human beings and animals.
2. Teaching key and difficult points:
1) Understand the topic sentence and flexibly use the new words and expressions
2) Analyze why some animals become endangered and what human beings do for them
3. Teaching aids: multi-media, blackboard, pictures
4. Teaching procures:
1)leading-in:
播放拯救動物的公益視頻,引發(fā)學生對野生動物保護的思考
2) presentation:
展示成都熊貓基地的熊貓、圖片中的麋鹿和華南虎,了解它們生存狀況,通過上下
文學習相應(yīng)單詞和詞組,并配合深入講解endangered animals in china.
3) practice
pair work: 小組討論why are they in danger of disappearing? 小組代表匯報,老師總結(jié)
鍛煉學生深入和分析思考問題 以及英語口語表達能力。
4) consolidation
展示甘肅動物園的圖片,揭示動物們在動物園生活的現(xiàn)狀,并言語啟迪他們思考:動物們在動物園生活是對他們的保護還是束縛?由此進行一個debate.
隨后讓學生看后面reading 部分的題目和圖片,predict the content through pictures and title of passage.
5) summary and homework: 播放“月熊取膽”視頻, 課后學生書寫一篇自己所感所想,寫節(jié)課上課大家一起分享。
